Things don’t seem to be going well for the current Miss California, Carrie Prejean. First, it was her anti same sex marriage at the Miss USA Pageant and now this.
Her contract with the Miss USA pageant prohibits her from being photographed “in a state of partial or total nudity.”
If you guys remember a few years back, Miss Nevada was stripped of her crown after provocative pictures of her with other girls surfaced.
There are reports that there are more inappropriate photos of Miss California, or should I say, the soon-to-be former Miss California? Pageant insiders are quick to mention that Miss California and Miss USA organizers are currently debating whether or not to dethrone Carrie.
“On April 19, I chose to answer a question during the 2009 Miss USA pageant in an honest and personal manner that expressed my views of the long-established definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman,” Prejean, 21, said in a statement Tuesday. “Yet my comments defending traditional marriage have led to intimidation tactics that seek to undermine my reputation and somehow silence me and my beliefs, as if opinion is only a one-way street.”
One leaked shot shows Prejean wearing nothing but undies and covering her breast. Prejean insisted the pics are just modeling shots.
“I am a Christian, and I am a model,” she said. “Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos.”
She added that the shots, taken of her as a teengaer, were “released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith.”
“I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be,” she went on. “But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others’ opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.”
Despite the controversy, she said she “will continue to support and defend marriage as the honorable institution it is. I will continue to stand with the overwhelming majority of the American people and the voters of my home state of California.”
“If this whole experience has taught me anything,” she concluded, “it is our precious right to speak freely, and how we as Americans can never allow anyone or any group to intimidate or threaten us to keep silent.”
What do you think? Should Carrie Prejean have her crown taken away?

I’m not sure if she should lose her status (probably should, except under the Donald’s rules) but it certainly discounts any statements she made about ‘opposite marriage.’ The picture(s) certainly express her loose morals and urge to end up in a rap video. She claims to be a good Christian and one who follows Christian morals? Are these pictures espousing Christian morals? Does intolerance espouse Christian morals? No wonder Islam is the fastest growing religion. Let the mocking began. She is a joke.
She is complaining about others being intolerant?!? That is their problem with her. I am married but it has nothing to do with God (or Allah, or Buddah, etc.) – it is a “legal status”. I am not religious but I love my husband and wanted a family and all the benefits this country allows for people who commit to share resources. Why can’t that include people who happen to be the same sex. Why do you all care so much. WWJD? If you are truly religious then you would do the right thing – love your neighbors – unconditionally! Bunch of hypocritical homophobes! Should agnostics and atheists not be allowed to be “married” since they don’t care if their union is legit in God’s eyes? I just don’t understand the problem? If you think God will have a problem with it – just let it be (then you can go happily through life thinking you won’t see any of THEM in heaven anyway). Whatever!
Well if she tries to portray herself as a victim she’s failing miserably. She wants to portay herself a a “good” christian then she’s not excuse with the whole shebang. she should really stand for her beliefs. this is hypocrisy in her part. typical asshole repuklean.
leave the girl alone!
The loonies are running the asylum. No, of course she should not lose here title over this. This photo is innocent compared to what others have done. What is happening in our country right now is very scary. People are being brainwashed by the liberal left which is now being led by gay activists. I have worked with gays in the theatre for years and I know their lifestyle firsthand. First and foremost, they are constantly on the prowl for adolescent boys to deflower and convert to homosexuality. That is the God’s truth and there’s not a gay man out there who can deny it. Next, they are profoundly immature and pursue a lifestyle of nothing but sex and pleasure. If you want to know what kind of sex they practice, go to a gay website. You will be shocked and understand why there should never be children in their homes. Come on people, open your eyes and have some courage. Have all the soldiers who have fought and died for freedom throughout our history done it for the right of perverts to change our traditions and way of life?
She’s starting to sound like Sarah Palin…”I’m being vilified because of my viewpoints.” No, dear, because you lied, the same as Governor Palin. If you signed the contract knowing these photos were out there, you voided that contract. No one really cares if you support gay marriage or not, but we do care when you say you are a Christian and have posed nude.
She should lose her crown. She did not reveal these photos during the application process, which is the same thing as lying. What kind of role-model is that? Furthermore for her make claims of intolerance is the same thing as a nazi claiming to be misunderstood. Cry me a river.
She should have her crown taken away, not because of her opinion, or for her beliefs, but for the legal agreement she signed in order to enter the competition in the first place.
She seems to want to blame the attack on her speaking out about ‘traditional marriage’, but that is just a diversion. The contract she signed specifically states that she could be disqualified for having nude or partially nude photos taken previously. She signed the contract, agreeing to this stipulation. Now, she should honor that commitment that she made, and step aside.
Yes. Good christians don’t use sex to sell themselves or anything else for that matter. Promoting lust and promiscuity is not a good moral or christian vale. I am surprised that she did not accuse Gays and Lesbians of forcing her to take the pictures.
Question answers are: If you want to be a beauty pageant contestant, you have to be an amateur who hasn’t exposed herself.
If you want to be a model, well, go for it.
Unfortunately, models and contestants are right there on the same level as a pole dancer in a strip club or a pole dancer at a frat party or a pole dancer on Spring break. Is this a question of morals? No one in the business of selling her skin should be in the business of judging others. Oh, by the way, Ms Prejean: Are all those mothers and fathers married? If they are do they stay married? How come orphanages are not empty? How come these “mothers and fathers” aren’t adopting orphans? What is your IQ?
Hang in there. The individuals looking for details to discredit you have nothing positive going for them in their own lives. None of us are without moments in our lives that we could now do without, although the pictures I saw of you are fine. I see nothing wrong with them. . Let these issues strengthen you, not weaken.
As Carrie Prejean said “If this whole experience has taught me anything, it is our precious right to speak freely, and how we as “Americans” can never allow anyone or any group to intimidate or threaten us to keep silent.”
That’s right.
As Americans, we (including gays and lesbians) can never allow anyone or any group to intimidate or threaten us to keep silent.
It appears the photo is nothing more than what you would see in magazine advertising-it fact-it was modeling photo’s for magazine advertising. I am very saddened by the publicity and attitudes some have directed at Ms.Prejean. She appears to be a very lovely and charming young lady. I am somewhat undecide on the issue of calling a union between same sex members -’Marriage’ but I certainly think they ought to have the same rights and responsibilities when entered into a legal union. I believe Ms.Prejean(boy she is one gorgeous girl!)answered the question asking for her opinion very well-given she had only a second to think about it. I have known gay people before and just as with any other people, some I think are wonderful human beings and some I have found to be despicable people.Having never heard of him before the past two weeks, my impression of Pariz Hilton seems to be toward the latter of those two descriptions. Seems to me the biggest error involved in the pagent was allowing Mr.Hilton to ask such a devicive question and for that I question the leadership of the Miss U.S.A. officials. I found Mr. Hilton’s response and his vulgar antics after the pagent to be extremely counterproductive to his cause and the light that it shines on ‘liberal’ minded people-of which I am one. Her opinion was exactly that-Her opinion. It was not demeaning and did not cause her to sound petty or bigoted. I think it was a very inapproiate question for a beauty pagent but I think she answered it vry tactfully-reguarding her own opinion-which was the basis of the question. I really don’t give two hoots about Mr. Hilton’s future or lack thereof-hopefully he will slide back into the slimy obscurity he dribbled out of. Reguarding Ms. Prejean(Wow, what a beauty-did I already say that?), I was very impressed with how she presented herself and particularly with a certain intelligent beauty(oops, there I go again-do you suppose I might be biased?),awareness that seemed to eminate from her eyes. That is something I have noticed lacking in many ‘beauty’ contestants. I fearfully hope she does not allow herself to be sidetracked by Christian Right, anti-gay,anti liberal, evangelical, holier than thou, political crusaders who will exploit her faster than porn producers will a runaway 17year old virgin looking for a place to stay and companionship-and will not give two hoots about her own future once they’ve had their way with her or at some point realize she’s not as ‘perfect in every way’ that they believe themsleves to be. She needs to be wary of those factions-reguardless of her own convictions on religion, politics, and sex. So she didn’t get the Miss U.S.A. title. She should have. She has all the beauty, intelligence, poise, charm, and grace that anyone would ever expect of a Miss U.S.A., and so far she still represents what mainstream America is proud of. If she allows herself to be pegged as the next Anita Bryant her future will be very limited.
YES her crown should be taken away for being a liar. Christian or not she lied to everyone when she knew she had posed for photos like that, You just dont forget something like that and she thought she could get away it. She lied so take away the crown and give it to an honest girl who wasnt trying to get a deal with playboy, funny how she threw out the christian crap. So do all christians think they can still be a liar and we all forgive, i dont think soo, a liar is a liar who cannot be trusted.
What a crock, this the pro-gay militant advocacy groups who have pressured the pageant owners into dropping this girl because of her views on gay marriage. Personally I don’t have an issue with gay marriage but I believe in a free and democratic country each person has the right to free speech and their views. I am really get sick of fringe groups, either on the far left or the far right, trying to dictate to the majority what we should think, feel, believe. I also despise the way they obliterate anyone who opposes or disagrees with their views.
So let me the first to say to this. I won’t watch the pageant & I won’t buy any of the products from the sponsors. If you are a Hollywood star and you allow yourself to be interviewed by that scum Perez Hilton (Manuel or whatever his real name is) I won’t watch your shows/movies or buy you music.
Yes, she should be stripped of her Miss California crown, but only because she failed to disclose information required, not for her views about marriage.
Frankly, I don’t care what she believes about same-sex marriage. I’m not a single-issue idiot who judges other people solely on their religio-political views, their morality, or their looks, intelligence, age, skin color, hair and eye color, shoe size, girth, height, weight, or whatever else many people use to unreasonably judge and discriminate against others. I have my own complicated set of criteria.
It doesn’t bother me that there are people who have beliefs that are different from mine. What bothers me is when people with different beliefs disrespect my beliefs by telling me that only they have the truth and that I should abandon my false beliefs and accept their “true” beliefs.
If Prejean doesn’t want to marry a woman, then she doesn’t have to, but whether others marry men or women is none of her business, just as it is none of mine.
Why are moralists so incredibly arrogant and intolerant? Why must they insist that everyone believe what they believe?
I’m not happy to hear, however, that Prejean is going to star in some campaign against same-sex marriage. It’s purely politics, and as Miss California, she should not be playing that kind of politics. Strip her of the title for that, but not for her beliefs.
She’s a TRAMP. Make her give the crown back. they Made Vanessa Williams give it back.
Who cares about her. There is far worse things going on in this world that what she was up to…jeezz
RONALDO!
